Chants Finish Strong in Day 2 of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA - Members of the Coastal Carolina women's track & field team wrapped up their trip to the Penn Relays held at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field track on Friday.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Erica Peake, Santresa Jamison, Darriale Henley and Vondeeshia Humphries placed 20th in the 54 team field in 1:38.91. The Chants time was the fourth quickest of their heat and the fastest by any Chanticleer 4x200 meter relay combination this season.

In all, 10 Coastal Carolina athletes competed at the prestigious Penn Relays. Kierra Gabe paced the Chants at the event as she set the new Coastal Carolina high jump standard with a leap of 1.76m (5-9.25).

Coastal Carolina will send athletes to the Bob Pollock Spring Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. on Saturday, May 7 and the Duke Twilight in Durham, N.C. on Sunday, May 8.
