WILMINGTON, N.C. - Coastal Carolina sophomore Yusuke Kusuda advanced to the men's flight A singles championship match at the UNC Wilmington Collegiate Tennis Invitational. The championship took place on Sunday, Sept. 18.

Kusuda scored wins over the University of South Carolina's Ben Barnette (6-4, 6-3), Campbell University's Fernando Guillen (6-4, 4-6, 7-6(5)) and UNC Wilmington's Chris Cooprider (2-6, 7-6, 7-5).

"Kusuda played excellently today (Saturday) and earned himself a trip to the finals with some big wins against really strong opponents," said head coach Chris Powers.

During the championship match Kusuda faced Alexis Huegas from Virginia Commonwealth University.
