Falcon Invitational Final Results

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Three Chanticleers shot under par on Monday and Coastal Carolina moved up three spots to finish in seventh at Air Force's Gen Miranda Falcon Invitational, played at the 7,363-yard, par 72 Eisenhower Golf Club Blue Course.

Coastal Carolina's one-under par 287 was the fourth-lowest round on Monday to finish the 54-hole event at seven-over par 871 (296-288-287). UNLV and Colorado were tied for the team lead after 54 holes with the Runnin' Rebels winning in a playoff in the 18-team field.

Sebastian Soderberg led Coastal Carolina, placing 12th. The junior carded a two-under 70 Monday and finished the event at three-under par 213 (75-68-70). Sophomore Roberto Ballesterosposted a career-low, one-under 215 (67-72-76).

Senior Charlie Winegardner and freshman Ben Wheelereach shot 71. Winegarder, after an opening-round 77, rallied to shoot 72-71 and finished at four-over par 220 (35th-tied). Wheeler's 71 came after rounds of 77-76 and tied for 56th with a three-round score of 224.

Although his rounds were not counted toward the team score in the first 36 holes, transfer Kevin Vanden Heuvel contributed a 75 on Monday. He tied for 83rd overall with a 230 (78-77-75). Playing as an individual, freshman Andrew Dorntied for 76th with a 228 (71-79-78).

The Chanticleers return to action Oct. 1-2 at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational.
