WESTCHESTER, Ill. - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team shot par 288 in the final round of the 2025 Highlands Invitational on Tuesday to finish in third place at 1-over 865 on the Chicago Highlands Club par-72, 7,578-yard course.
Wake Forest claimed the team title at 24-under par 840 (275-284-281) followed by East Tennessee State at 16-under par 848 (275-288-285). The Demon Deacons' Jorge Hao captured medalist with a 54-hole score of 17-under 199 (65-65-69).
Max Bengtsson led the way for the Chanticleers, shooting 6-under 210 to finish alone in fifth place. Bengtsson fired a 5-under 67 in round one and then shot par in round two before firing a 1-under 71 on the final 18 holes.
Bengtsson has one of five Chants to finish inside the top 20.
"It was a good week for our guys," Chanticleers' head coach
Jacob Wilner said. "The course was a tough test, both mentally and physically. We will take a few days off and then begin preparation for our third tournament of the fall at Florida Gulf Coast."
Freshman
Santiago Schele tied for ninth (70-71-71=212), followed by
Jack Lee's tie for 12th place (72-75-68=215). Sophomore
Drew Sykes carded a three-round total of 1-over 217 (70-71-76) and
Coleman Ferguson shot 9-over 225 (75-77-73). Freshman
Lucas Arntsen finished tied for 66th at 18-over 234 (77-75-82).
The Chants return to the links Oct. 6-7 at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational in Estero, Fla.
