AUGUSTA, GA. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team won its second match of the year against Mercer on Sunday afternoon.
The Chanticleers improved to 2-0 on the young year while the Bears fell to 0-2.
After losing the doubles point, Coastal won all six of the singles matches to defeat Mercer 6-1 in a neutral site match. All but one of Coastal's matches was won in straight sets.
"I wasn't happy at all with our doubles at two and three today," said head coach Chris Powers. "However, I thought our singles matches went very well. The guys are playing with good intensity and the team chemistry is taking shape. We look forward to a new opportunity at UNCW next week."
Coastal's next match is scheduled for Friday afternoon at UNC Wilmington. The match time is slated for 1 p.m. at the UNCW Tennis Complex.
