Coastal Drops 4-3 Decision to Cornell

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Cornell on a warm Friday afternoon at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.

The Chanticleers lost the doubles point to start the match but followed with three straight singles wins in straight sets. Playing from the No. 2 position, Diana Mortlock would win 6-2, 6-0 followed by Kourtney Kowal (7-5, 6-1) and Katie Fosnacht (6-0, 6-3) to give the Chanticleers a 3-1 lead.

Cornell (8-4) bounced back to win the final three singles matches to hand Coastal (11-2) only its second defeat of the year.

Coastal turns around and faces the University of Chicago on Saturday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
