Women's Tennis Defeats Temple

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team defeated Temple 6-1 Friday morning at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.

After being suspended on Thursday afternoon, the match resumed at 10 a.m. Friday. Coastal entered the day leading the match 2-1 after sweeping the doubles and splitting a pair of singles matches.

Coastal won all four remaining singles matches beginning with Miki Bunea from the No. 1 spot defeating Yana Mavrina 6-2, 6-4. Diana Mortlock finished her match on Thursday beating Paola Calderon 6-0, 6-3. Katie Fosnacht and Amanda Malatek both won in straight sets followed by Mikaela Kristofersson finishing off the match winning in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

Coastal will travel to Orlando, Fla., on Monday, March 12 to face Quinnipiac at 10 a.m. They will remain in Orlando on Tuesday to play Rhode Island at 9:30 a.m.
