Chants Start Two-Game Road Swing Saturday

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team takes to the road for its final two contests of the 2013 calendar year. The Chanticleers, who have concluded their non-conference schedule, jump back into Big South Conference play at Longwood on Saturday, Dec. 28 before taking on Radford Monday, Dec. 30. Tipoffs are set at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

Last Time Out
• Coastal Carolina suffered its fifth setback of the season with a 62-80 loss to College of Charleston on Dec. 18.
• AJ Jordan eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the sixth time, finishing with 20 points on 8-of-15 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line to lead all scorers.
• Angelica Henry and Alexx Puckett each scored 12 for the Chants.
• Coastal struggled from the field as Charleston stormed out to a 25-point lead with 7:49 remaining in the first half. The Chants cut the lead to 10 on four separate occasions during the remainder of the game, but would get no closer.
• Charleston owned a 42-26 advantage in points in the paint and forced 26 Chanticleer turnovers.
Coastal Carolina vs. Longwood
• Coastal Carolina and Longwood have met four times in the all-time series dating back to the 1984-85 season with the Lancers holding a 3-1 advantage.
• The teams split the season series a year ago with each holding serve on its home court. Coastal fell 63-77 at Longwood on Jan. 19 then won 66-62 at home on Jan. 13 by way of a 17-point second-half comeback.

Chanticleers In Big South Road Openers
• Coastal Carolina is 7-10 all-time when playing its first conference game away from Conway.
• Coastal defeated Gardner-Webb 65-62 in last season's league road opener.
Non-Conference Recap
• The Chanticleers concluded its non-conference slate with a 4-5 record.
• Coastal defeated Virginia Intermont, Brevard, North Carolina Central and Montreat, but fell to No. 12/12 North Carolina, Seattle, Drake, Furman and College of Charleston.
• CCU went 3-1 at home during the non-conference schedule and 1-4 away from The HTC Center, including an 0-2 mark in neutral site contests.
• Coastal averaged 73.3 points, but allowed 74.8 point per game. However, the Chants did hold a 46.1-40.8 edge in rebound per game.

• Coastal is 10 games into its 2013-14 season with a 5-5 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Big South play.
• The Chants have 19 games remaining on its regular season slate with each being of the conference variety.
• Through 10 contests, the Chants are averaging 74.5 points per outing compared to only 59.5 a season ago. In addition, Coastal averages 46.5 rebound per game, an improvement of 3.3 over the first 10 games of last season.
