Hansen Named Big South Freshman Golfer of the Week

Hansen tied for 19th in the 83-competitor field of The Johnie Imes Invitational (par 72, 6,201 yards), marking the first top-20 finish of her collegiate career. She shot rounds of 72-74-73 for a 3-over 219, and her first round 72 and 3-over 219 score are collegiate bests. Hansen ranked seventh in the field in both par-3 and par-5 scoring, playing the holes +4 and +2, respectively. She also ranked fourth in par-4 scoring, playing the combined 30 holes 3-under. Her 11 birdies throughout the tournament ranked fifth in the field.
A native of Denmark, Hansen holds a 74.50 scoring average through six rounds of play this season.
Coastal's next tournament is the Jacksonville University-hosted JU Classic at the Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Verde Beach, Fla. The 54-hole tournament opens with 36 holes of play of Monday, Oct. 13 and concludes with a final 18 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
