Coastal Football Stays #1 in Coaches Poll/2nd by Media

For the second consecutive week, the Chanticleers garnered 20 of the possible 26 first place votes in the coaches poll. Coastal picked up one more first place vote this week in the media poll, getting 56 of the possible 160 votes.
Also receiving votes in the coaches poll were #2 New Hampshire (4), #3 Jacksonville State (1) and #4 North Dakota State (1). In the media poll, New Hampshire is the top-ranked team after receiving 74 first place votes, while #3 North Dakota State received 30 first place votes and #4 Jacksonville State had 10 first place votes.
CCU opponent North Carolina A&T (9-2) jumped into the top 25 at #24 in the media poll and just missed the top 25, coming in at #27 in the coaches poll. Big South foe Charleston Southern (8-3) is #26 in the coaches poll and 31st by the media. Liberty is 35th in the media poll and 39th in the coaches poll. Other CCU opponents receiving votes in the coaches poll include South Carolina State and Presbyterian.
Coastal Carolina will host Liberty this Saturday in the final regular-season game of the 2014 season. Kickoff is set for 1 pm. Prior to the game, Coastal Carolina will honor its 2014 senior class. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and determine the Big South's automatic qualifier to this year's NCAA Division I Championship.
