Do you feel that the offense is close to reaching its peak?
"I feel like we've been picking it up each week and that's a good thing, because you want to be picking it up towards the end of the season. I feel like, as an offense, we are starting to come together."
Does it matter that you're taking a break from Big South play right now to play a non-conference team in the middle of conference season?
"I don't look at it as conference game, non-conference game. I look at is as, no matter who we play, we want to win. You don't look at it as a week to take off because we have that goal of being 1-0 each week. When we look at it like that, I don't think this is a week to take off just because it is a non-conference game."

Comment of Charlotte:
"I think Charlotte gets hurt a little bit by what their overall record is because they've dropped the last five in a row. But, when you look at those films, as I have, and you look at the scores, it's easy to see that any one of those games could have gone either way. They are an FBS team, and I recognize that they are going through a transition. The kids are physical, tough and they do a good job getting to the ball. They play at home to a sold-out crowd and it's always a nice environment for them to play in. They just had a bye-week, so that gave some of the guys a little chance to heal and gave them extra preparation for us. We know that they are going to do everything they can to stop the losing streak. I think we have our work cut out for us. Their combination of the ability to throw and run the ball makes them a formidable offense.
"They force you to do a lot of preparing. They hurt us a little bit a year ago, with regards to special teams. We know that we have to be well prepared. I know they are giving us a lot of things to think about. The special teams need to be reckoned with. I think where they have some issues is on their defense. Their defense has a lot of young guys that make inexperienced-type mistakes, but those guys are pretty good athletes, physical and do get to the ball. They are going to be ready to go. Like every week, we have to make sure we are prepared."
On Coastal's offense:
"Earlier in the year, we talked about the value compounding - you learn something and you keep building on it. That's incredibly positive and, if you know how to use that, it becomes a competitive advantage. I think we do a pretty good job compounding. I think those are the reasons you see our team improving across the board. I think, with the offense, the issues that we had earlier in the season - too many penalties, too many dropped balls, fumbles and interceptions - we are now keeping that to a minimum. We have to be able to score touchdowns and get the ball into the end zone."
