Charlotte, N.C. - Anna Vogt of the Coastal Carolina women's basketball team was named the Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 15-21, the league announced on Monday.
The weekly honor is the first of Vogt's career and the first for a Chanticleer player this season.
Vogt averaged 17.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in two contests last week. On Wednesday, in a 67-52 win against NC Central, she shot 63.6 percent from the field for 19 points, pulled down 11 rebounds, dished out four assists and added two steals. In the first half of that game, she orchestrated an 8-1 Coastal run in which she accounted for all of the Chants' points. On Sunday against Saint Francis, Vogt tallied 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, narrowly missing her fifth double-double of the season. She went 5-8 from the field and added two steals for Coastal.
Vogt was additionally named the Big South Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness on Monday.
Vogt and the Chanticleers return to action on Dec. 30, when they host High Point in a Big South matchup at The HTC Center. Opening tip between the Chants and Panthers is set for 7 p.m.
