Tar Heel Intercollegiate Final Results 
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team opened its 2014-15 season by placing 16th at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, played at the par 72, 7,442-yard UNC UNC Finley Golf Course.
Host North Carolina won the 18-team event by shooting an even par round of 288 Sunday and a 54-hole score of 26-under par 838 (273-277-288). UNC Greensboro and East Carolina tied for second, each carding a three-day total of 3-under par 861. The Chanticleers turned in rounds of 302-301-303 for a 54-hile total of 906.
Olle Widegren and Harrison Frye led the Chants in the final round, each shooting a 2-over 74.
Widegren was 4-over at the turn, but posted three birdies on his first six holes on his back nine to get to 1-over. However, he had a bogey on the par 4 seventh hole, followed by two pars, to settle for his 74. Overall, Widegren also led the Chants, tying for 63rd with rounds of 74-77-74 for a 54-hole total of 225.
Frye was 2-over after nine holes and turned in two bogeys and two birdies on the back nine for his 74. Overall, he tied for 68th, shooting 78-74-74 for a 226. Sophomore Chris Williams also tied for 68th with s 54-hole score of 226 (73-75-78).
Ryan Carpenter and Vinnie Murphy rounded out the Coastal contingent. Carpenter tied for 78th, shooting 77-76-77 for a 54-hile total of 230, while Murphy turned in rounds of 82-76-81 for a three-day total of 239.
