Charlotte, N.C. - Coastal Carolina University's, Letitia Saayman of the women's cross country team was named the Big South Choice Hotels Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this season, the league announced Wednesday.

Saayman has earned this award after three of the four races in 2015 and the senior now has ten career cross country awards.

Saayman placed first among a field of 324 runners in the Royals Cross Country Challenge this past weekend leading the team to a third place finish out of thirty-seven teams. The South African native completed the course in a time of 17:07, finishing 33 second ahead of the second place runner, teammate Aynslee van Graan, and the rest of the pack.

Chanticleer teammates Aynslee van Graan, Rachel Byrd and Kyla van Graan also joined Saayman in the top 20 of the Royals Cross Country Challenge, placing second, sixth and 12th, respectively.

Saayman and the rest of the Coastal Carolina cross country teams return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16th, at the Wake Forest Invitational in Kernersville, N.C. The race is set to start at 4:30 p.m. ET.
