Coastal Completes Charlotte Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina competed on the final day of the Charlotte 49er Invitational on Saturday, posted a combined 14-5 record in both singles and doubles to wrap the weekend with a 30-5 overall record.
Coastal played two rounds of singles against Davidson and Charlotte before facing Wofford in doubles.
The Chants went 5-3 against Davidson with singles wins coming from Sara Bondar (No. 3), Marie Babayan (No. 4), Romane Delay (No. 5) and Laura Mary (No. 8) in straight sets. Brooke Campbell won the No. 7 singles match in three sets.
The second round of singles against Charlotte saw Coastal win all but one of the seven singles matches. The Chants received straight-sets win from Natalie Wall (No. 2), Bondar (No. 3), Babayan (No. 4), Delay (No. 5) and Mary (No. 7), with a three-set win coming from Cari Berry at No. 6.
The round of doubles versus Wofford included three Coastal victories in four matches, with the wins coming at the No. 2, 3 and 4 spots. The No. 2 pairing of Wall/Berry won 6-4, the No. 3 duo of Babayan/Delay prevailed 6-3 and Campbell/Mary teamed at No. 4 to take a 6-2 win.
The Chants are back in action later this week as the ITA Carolina Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C. kicks off on Oct. 21.
