Kelly Hamilton Named Women's Lacrosse Assistant

Oct. 30, 2015

CONWAY - Former Lock Haven women's lacrosse standout Kelly Hamilton has joined the Chanticleer coaching staff as an assistant, head coach Kristen Selvage has announced. Hamilton previously played and was a four-year starter under Selvage at LHU from 2012-15.

"Kelly had an exemplary career at Lock Haven," said Selvage. "She was an incredibly intelligent player and understands the value of hard work. As a midfielder, she possesses the knowledge we need to help our student-athletes on both sides of the field. Her knowledge on the draw, attack, defense and free positions is exactly what we need to be effective in all areas of the field. I am thrilled that Kelly chose to join our Chanticleer family and help us achieve the next level of lacrosse we are looking for here at Coastal."

Hamilton was a three-year captain at Lock Haven where she totaled 199 career points on 163 goals and 36 assists in 75 games. Her leadership and play resulted in the Bald Eagles making consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II tournament from 2013-15, including back-to-back championship appearances and #2 national rankings in 2014 and '15.

Hamilton closed her playing career as a two-time Division II IWLCA All-American and All-Region selection, earning the four honors her junior and senior seasons. She was additionally a three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honoree, and was named MVP of the PSAC Championship in 2014 as LHU claimed the conference title. The Bald Eagles then repeated as conference champions in the 2015 season, Hamilton's final year at LHU.

Prior to joining Coastal's staff, Hamilton gained coaching experience serving as a coach and counselor at Lock Haven lacrosse camps. She also coached for Ultimate Lacrosse, a club team based in Pennsylvania.

In addition to her on-field performance, Hamilton was a dean's list and honor roll student at Lock Haven, and served as Secretary of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Hamilton graduated from Lock Haven in 2015 with a B.S. in sports administration and a minor in exercise psychology.
