HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team once again forced an overtime versus the High Point Panthers on Wednesday evening, but neither team was able to find the back of the net ending in a scoreless tie.

Coastal moved to a 3-0-1 in conference play, 7-4-1 overall, and High Point moved to a 2-1-1 in the conference, 7-2-4 overall.

Similar to last season's matchups between Coastal Carolina and High Point with both games ending in overtime, neither was able to come away with a victory.

Neither team was able to generate a consistent offensive pressure during the first period. The Chanticleer offense was able to create only a few chances throughout the first 45 minutes of play recording four shots while forcing four corners but couldn't seem to put together the final touches in the attacking third. The best chance the Panthers had was a free kick just outside of the 18-yard box curling one into towards the far post but goes wide of the goal.

The Chants came out more aggressive in the attack during the second half out shooting the Panthers 13-4. Daniella Famili stole the ball from the back line with one Panther defender to beat but her shot is blocked forcing a corner for the Chants.

Following back to back chances for the Chants, Coastal earned a free kick near half field and sent in by Camille Christie toward the back post to find Famili, getting her head on it she directed it towards the goal but was saved by the High Point keeper, Alex Persiani.

Coastal continued to pressure the Panther defense moments later with Kayla Christian receiving the ball down the right flank. Christian sent a cross in finding Famili who took a one touch shot to the low right corner forcing the keeper to make a diving save.

Amber Adams had the next go at the Panthers with a far ranged shot from outside the box skimming the cross bar to bounce out to Christian but was unable to get anything out of it. Coastal was able to get one last chance before the end of the second half with a cross from Christian to the back post, Famili gets a foot on it reaching from a distance but just goes wide.

For the fourth time this season Coastal headed into an overtime matchup. Both teams created chances during the two overtimes but neither were able to find the back of the net. Each team tallied two shots in each overtime half.

Famili ended the night totaling six shots with two on goal, Miki Antzoulatos followed with three shots with one on goal. Four other Chanticleers each totaled two shots on goal.

The Chanticleers return home on Friday Oct. 9 hosting the Winthrop Eagles at 6 p.m. Before the game, the four seniors will be honored for their careers at Coastal Carolina.
