
Men's Basketball Set For Wednesday's Home Opener

CONWAY - After opening the season with two games at the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawai'i, the Coastal Carolina men's basketball team will make its debut in front of the home fans Wednesday evening at the HTC Center. The Chanticleers will receive their 2015 Big South Tournament championship rings prior to the 7:00 p.m. tipoff.

Coastal In Home Openers
• Coastal Carolina holds a 30-10 record in home openers dating back to the 1974-75 season. The Chanticleers have won five straight home openers with their last loss coming to Coker College during the 2008-09 season, 80-59.
• The Chanticleers are 3-0 in home openers at the HTC Center, defeating Akron in 2013 and Guilford College in 2014 and Trinity Baptist in 2015.
Last Time Out
• Coastal Carolina fell 74-63 at Hawai'i in the third game of the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow classic. It was both teams second game of the season.
• Coastal was led by Jaylen Shaw's 15 points, while Elijah Wilson scored 14 and Shivaughn Wiggins added 12.
• Both teams shot 20-of-52 from the field and each side attempted 25 3-point shots, but Hawaii knocked down one more 3-pointer and had a big edge from the free throw line, knocking down 25-of-37 attempts. The Chanticleers were 15-of-21.

• The Chanticleers continue its two-game home stand on Saturday as hosts to Piedmont International at 2 p.m. Coastal defeated Piedmont International 76-33 last season.
Badou's Boards
• Badou Diagne is five rebounds away from becoming the 50th player in Big South history with 600 in a career. He has an outside chance of joining the league's 1,000-point, 600-rebound and 100-blocked shot club, as his career totals include 760 points and 74 blocked shots. Meanwhile, teammate Michel Enanga is 12 rebounds away from 500 in his career.
Shaw Makes Chanticleer Debut
• Redshirt sophomore Jaylen Shaw officially made his Chanticleer debut during the Rainbow Classic. Shaw, who was recruited heavily by Coastal out of Hartsville HS, sat out the 2014-15 season after transferring from South Carolina.
• He averaged a team-best 14.0 points per game coming out of the Rainbow Classic after scoring 13 in his Chanticleer debut against Nevada followed by 15 against Hawai'i.
Wilson 58 Away From 1,000
• Junior Elijah Wilson is only 58 points shy of becoming just the 20th member of Coastal Carolina's 1,000 point club.
• Wilson has scored 942 points in his 70 career games for a 13.4 points per game average.
• At his current pace (13.4 ppg), Wilson will eclipse the 1,000 career points plateau on Nov. 28 at Campbell.
• Wilson played with Coastal's most recent 1,000-point scorer in 2015 graduate Warren Gillis. Wilson shared the court with Gillis (1,352 points) during both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
• Wilson will need to score 410 more points to reach the CCU all-time top-10 career scoring list.
• At his current pace of 461 points per season, Wilson would finish his career with more than 1,800 points.
