Women's Tennis Announces 2016 Schedule

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women’s tennis team announced its 2016 spring schedule on Tuesday. The schedule features 23 matches total, including 12 home matches at the Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex.
The Chanticleer women open the season with a pair of early road tests at South Carolina (Jan. 23) and UNC Wilmington (Jan. 28).
Coastal makes it home debut on Jan. 30 when it hosts Francis Marion and Savannah State for a pair of matches at the CCU Tennis Complex. The Chants follow the double header with two more home matches against UNC Greensboro (Feb. 6) and College of Charleston (Feb. 10).
The Chants then enter a stretch of road matches from Feb. 13 – March 16 with two home matches against Wofford (Feb. 20) and Radford (March 6) in the middle. The road opponents include Furman, USC Upstate, Gardner-Webb, Charlotte, Longwood, South Carolina State (in Charleston, S.C.) and Campbell. The match at Gardner-Webb on Feb. 27 is Coastal’s Big South Conference opener.
Coastal then hosts its next five opponents, including Morgan State (March 19), UNC Asheville (March 20), Liberty (March 24), East Carolina (March 26), and Binghamton (March 28).
The Chants close the regular season with matches at Charleston Southern and Winthrop, with a home match against Presbyterian (April 2) in between.
Liberty serves as host for the 2016 Big South Women’s Tennis Championship. The four-day tournament begins with the first round on April 13 and concludes with the championship match on April 16.
