Chanticleers Face ACC Test Friday At Wake Forest

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's basketball travels to Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Friday evening to face Atlantic Coast Conference member Wake Forest for the third time in program history. Tipoff between the 6-4 Chanticleers and the 7-2 Demon Deacons is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

Coastal Carolina Game Notes
Last Time Out
• Coastal Carolina shot 85.0 percent in the first half, then made nine free throws in the final three minutes to hold off Wofford Monday evening at the Terriers' Benjamin Johnson Arena.
• Coastal received a balanced scoring effort as four Chants finished in double-figures. Shivaughn Wiggins led the way with 14, while Badou Diagne scored 13. Michel Enanga and Tristian Curtis each chipped in 10. Curtis and Colton Ray-St Cyr each reeled in a team-high eight rebounds.
• Wofford was led offensively by Eric Garcia's 18 points. Also in double-digits for the Terriers were Fletcher Magee and Spencer Collins with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
• Coastal made 17-of-20 shot attempts in the first half, including five 3-pointers, and posted a 4-of-4 effort at the free-throw line.
The Series vs. Wake Forest
• Coastal and Wake Forest have met on three prior occasions with the Demon Deacons winning in 1986 and 1998, while the Chants captured a 106-104 overtime win in 1987.

Coastal vs. The ACC
• Coastal Carolina is 3-29 all-time against current members of the ACC.
• Coastal last defeated an ACC opponent on Dec. 19, 2012 via a 69-46 home drubbing of Clemson.
• The Chanticleers last faced a member of the ACC in the 2014 NCAA Tournament Round of 64. Coastal played No. 1 seeded Virginia tight, but ultimately fell 70-59 to the Cavaliers.
Enanga and Ray-St Cyr Suffer Injuries
• Both starting guard Colton Ray-St Cyr and reserve forward Michel Enanga have suffered injuries that will result in significant time lost. Ray-St Cyr will miss 6-8 weeks with a wrist injury, while Enanga will be out the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
• Prior to injury Ray-St Cyr had started nine of 10 games and was averaging 8.1 points and 5.3 rebounds, while Enanga appeared in nine games off the bench and was averaging 6.0 points and 5.4 board per outing.
Shooting So Smooth Even Stephen Curry Got Jealous
• Coastal Carolina seemingly couldn't miss in the first half on Dec. 14 at Wofford as the Chanticleers made 17-of-20 shot attempts for an even 85.0 shooting percentage in the game's opening 20 minutes. Coastal missed its second shot of the game then scored on its next 11 field goals, including four 3-pointers, before having its 14th attempt of the half pop out of the cylinder. Not only were the Chants feeling it from the field, but Shivaughn Wiggins also made all four of CCU's free throw attempts in the half.
• Perhaps the most emphatic point that Coastal wasn't meant to miss in the first half was Kevin Holmes Jr.'s bank shot 3-pointer late in the half as the shot clock was winding down.
Notes From The Wofford Game
• Coastal Carolina improved to a 3-0 on the season when at four players score in double-figures. Wiggins (14), Diagne (13), Curtis (10) and Enanga (10) all scored 10-plus against the Terriers.
• Coastal's 85.0 first half field goal percentage (17-of-20) marked the Chants' best single half percentage this season and the team's best against a Division I opponent since knocking down 52.0 percent of its shots against Wisconsin in the 2015 NCAA Tournament Round of 64.
• Tristian Curtis went a perfect 5-of-5 from the field. He is 9-of-9 in his last two games, raising his season shooting percentage to a team-best 78.9.
• Each of Coastal's four primary front court players (Curtis, Diagne, Enanga and Freeman) picked up four fouls each, nut none of them fouled out.
Big South's Best Tops SoCon's Best
• The Dec. 14 game between Coastal Carolina and Wofford marked a battle of southeastern mid-major conference powerhouses with the Chanticleers earning a 71-63 win for the Big South Conference.
• The game featured two programs that have emerged into perennial powerhouses in their respective conferences ... Since the start of the 2009-10 season, both Coastal Carolina and Wofford own the most overall victories and the most conference victories in the Big South and SoCon ... Coastal Carolina is 140-67 overall (.675) and 76-30 (.717) in Big South play ... Wofford is 130-81 (.619) overall and 75-31 (.708) in SoCon play ... Coastal Carolina also owns the best overall and Big South winning percentages in that span ... Wofford has the best overall and SoCon winning percentages in that span among teams that are currently Southern Conference members.
• Both Coastal Carolina and Wofford have earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament each of the last two seasons - Coastal Carolina winning the Big South Tournament and Wofford winning the Southern Conference Tournament each year ... Both programs also advanced past the conference tournament in 2010, 2011 and 2012 ...
