Spartanburg, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team picked up its second win of the season on Saturday afternoon as the Chanticleers (2-4) downed the host Wofford Terriers (4-3) 6-1.

The Chants controlled the match in both singles and doubles, winning on all but one court.

Coastal came out with a 1-0 lead after a sweep of the doubles point. Libby Scott and Honami Yazawa defeated Catherine Martin and Mareli Sanchez 6-4 on the first court, while Natalie Wall and Marie Babayan paired to deliver a 6-3 loss to Kalli Karas and Samantha Russell at No. 2. Romane Delay and Sara Bondar cruised to a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Coastal continued its dominance into singles, where four Chants picked up points in straight sets. Scott downed Coventry 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, while Yazawa bested Martin 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2.

Delay gave the Chants a point on the third court with a 6-2, 6-5 win over Karas, and Bondar added another on No. 4 after defeating Russell in three sets, 7-5, 3-6, 10-5. Coastal's final point came from a 6-2, 6-3 victory by Cari Berry at No. 6.

Wofford's lone point of the day came from Reid's 6-3, 6-2 win over Majtan at No. 5.

Up next the Chants return home to kick off their Big South conference schedule by hosting Campbell for a 2 p.m. match on Saturday.
