Coastal Continues Streak at Savannah State

Savannah, Ga. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team won its sixth straight match on Tuesday afternoon, shutting out Savannah State 7-0.
The Chanticleers improve their overall record to 7-4 thanks to the six match win streak, during which time they have topped opponents by 5-2, 6-1 and 7-0 margins, and edged Campbell 4-3 in a Big South matchup.
Coastal started the match in front after winning by default on the third doubles court. The Chanticleer duo of Libby Scott and Marie Babayan then gave the Chants the opening point with a 6-0 blanking of Jennyfer Vivas and Bria Burrows.
Honami Yazawa and Sara Bondar added a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles to finish off the round.
Savannah State was unable to field a sixth singles player, awarding Natalie Wall the first singles point by default.
Cari Berry clinched her singles match on the fifth court with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 score, followed by unblemished marks from Bondar and Mila Majtan on the third and fourth courts, respectively.
Yazawa and Delay closed out the match with three-set victories on courts one and two.
The Chants continue their spring break road swing on Wednesday with a 2 p.m. match at Georgia Southern.
