ITA Women's Tennis Doubles Rankings - April 14
CONWAY - Junior Libby Scott and sophomore Marie Babayan of the Coastal Carolina women's tennis team are ranked as the nation's 89th-best doubles pairing by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The ITA, which is the governing body of collegiate tennis, releases singles, doubles and team rankings every week throughout the tennis season. The ITA's list of doubles rankings includes the nation's top 90 pairs.
Scott and Babayan were paired together during nine matches this season, of which they lost just one. The duo combined to win two matches at the No. 2 position, and six matches at No. 3. They also finished with a 5-1 record against Big South opponents.
The two also paired with other Chanticleer teammates throughout the season. As individual, Scott finished with a 14-5 overall record in doubles while Babayan went 11-4. Scott was named a 2015 All-Big South selection last week, while Babayan earned a place on the conference's All-Academic Team.
Scott and Babayan are currently the only doubles pairing in the Big South to hold a national ranking.
The ITA will release updated rankings on Tuesday, April 21.
