Michael Paez Named All-Cape Cod League

2015 Cape Cod Baseball League Year-End All-League Team
CONWAY - Coastal Carolina junior shortstop Michael Paez was named to the 2015 Cape Cod Baseball League Year-End All-League Team. Paez was one of 31 players to make the squad and one of just six infielders.
Paez was the starting shortstop for the West team and only player from the Cotuit Kettleers to make the 2015 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game. At season's end, Paez was named his team's Offensive MVP as he batted a team-best .295 -- 14th-best in the league -- in the wood bat league. Paez also led his team in runs scored (17), hits (38), doubles (7), walks (21) and stolen bases (8). His 17 runs scored tied for 20th-best in the league, his seven doubles tied for 13th, his 21 walks ranked seventh and his eight stolen bases tied for 16th.
The Cape Cod League is widely considered the best summer collegiate baseball league in the nation and annually features the top players in the country. More than 1,100 Cape League alumni have gone on to perform in the major leagues, including a record 276 in 2014.The CCBL again led all collegiate summer leagues with more than 200 players drafted overall, including 14 in the first round during the 2015 Major League Baseball Player Draft.
Previous Chanticleers named to the Cape Cod All-League team include Mike Costanzo (2004), Nick McCully (2008), Scott Woodward (2010) and Ryan Connolly (2012).
