2014-15 GCAA All-Academic Team Honors
CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's golf team posted a cumulative 3.33 grade point average for the 2014-15 academic year to earn All-Academic Team honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Previously, Ben Wheeler was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar by the GCAA. Coastal joined Longwood as the only two schools from the Big South to earn All-Academic Team honors.
Seniors Andrew Dorn, Peter Valasek and Wheeler each graduated from Coastal Carolina this past spring and six of the team's eight golfers were named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll for posting at least a 3.0 GPA for the academic year, including Ryan Carpenter, Harrison Frye, Josh Pisarri, Valasek, Wheeler and Olle Widegren.
The men's golf team GPA of 3.33 for the 2014-15 academic year was second-best among the Chanticleers' male sports programs, trailing only men's soccer (3.36), and sixth-best in the department.
