WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in the JDL Camel City Invitational Friday evening starting out strong with nine top 10 finishes on the night.

On the women's side...

The Chanticleers went 1, 2 in the one-mile as sisters Aynslee van Graan and Kyla van Graan led the pack. Aynslee van Graan crossed the finish line first with a time of 4.59.56 and was closely followed by Kyla van Graan who clocked 5.00.18 taking second place. Lisha Van Onselen wasn't too far behind finished 13th clocking 5:09.60 and rounding up the pack was Regina Peattie who finished with a time of 5:48.95.

Senior Raven Hamilton tied for first place in the women's high jump with her best jump at 1.60 meters (5-03.00). Hamilton shared the first place spot with four other contestants. Teke Simpson and Chloe White each had their best jump at 1.55 meters (5-01.00).

Four Lady Chants competed in the 60 meter dash with Latesha Simpson leading the pack clocking 7.84. Followed closely behind by Kelila Naules crossing the line at 7.88 seconds. Karissa Lunn (7.96) and TeeAsiah Vance (8.08) finished out the race for the Chants.

Sophomore Takeyra Jenkins-Dodd led the Chants in the women's 400 meter clocking a time of 1:04.49, followed by Jonnay Anthony (1:02.33) and Rozelle Meier (1:02.35).

Briana Cristiano finished top 10 in the women's pole vault with her best jump at 3.20 meters (10-06.00). Junior Imani Boatwright was the lone Chant in the women's 800 meters clocking a time of 2:18.48.

Also for the Chants, Samantha Layko took 13th place with her best throw at 13.62 meters (44-08.25), followed by Cari Pallini with her best throw at 13.09 meters (42-11.50).

On the men's side...

Sophomore Kahlim Denmark took home fourth place clocking a time of 6.84 in the men's 60 meter dash. Therius Styles (7.06), D'Andre Fletcher (7.06) and Chiason Tenkiang (7.15) rounded up the 60m dash for the men's side.

In the men's 800 meters, Charles Bascom crossed the line at 2:01.33 for the Chants.

Freshman Braylon Wilkerson led the pack for the Chants in the men's 400 meter taking home fifth place in his Chanticleer debut clocking a time of 49.70. Following Wilkerson was Terrill Stanley with a time of 51.39, Malcolm Simmons (52.12) and Jerome Coaxum (50.42).

Zachary Connell took home third place in the men's pole vault with his best throw at 4.40 meters (14-05.25). Junior Nick Seabright, came in at 12th place with his best throw at 3.80 meters (12-05.50).

Two Chants competed in the men's weight throw placing in the top 15 out of 34. Ryan Minor took home seventh place with his best throw at 15.82 meters (51-11.00) while Zach Bolton placed 13th with his best at 13.96 meters (45-09.75).

Also for the Chants, Brandon Johnson took home 10th place in the men's long jump with his best jump at 6.90 meters (22-07.75) and Deandre Baker with his best jump at 6.81 meters (22-04.25).

The meet continues on Saturday as action gets underway at 9 a.m. and concludes with the Camel City E 1 Mile at 3:50 p.m.
