San Marcos, Texas - For the second straight game, junior forward Daniella Famili scored the lone goal to propel the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team over Texas State, 1-0, Sunday evening.

With the win, Coastal Carolina improved to 7-4-1, 4-1 in the Sun Belt, while Texas State fell to a 6-6-2 (3-2-1).

Famili closed the game with four total shots, including two on frame, while Becca Austin recorded her fourth straight clean-sheet, second of the weekend. Austin was forced to make eight total saves including three key saves in the first half.

Despite the score, Texas State outshot the Chanticleers 24-13 overall, and 8-6 in shots on goal. The Bobcats also held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The aggressive battle between the Chanticleers and Bobcats started early in the first half when CCU was fouled inside the penalty area. A cross was sent into the box towards Amber Adams who challenged the Bobcat defender for an air ball.

Famili stepped up for Coastal and the junior converted on the penalty kick to take the lead, 1-0, in the 13th minute.

In the second half, a fueled Bobcat offense recorded a total of 16 of the team's 24 shots, including 10 shots and four corner kicks within eight minutes. However, Austin and her back line held firm.

Texas State's best opportunity came in the 58th minute when Kassi Hormuth collected the ball at the top of the box. Hormuth fired a driven ball towards the net but hit the post and bounced out of bounds.
