CONWAY - The 2017 Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse schedule features 17 total matches, of which nine will be played in the friendly confines of Brooks Stadium, second-year head coach Kristen Selvage announced today.

The Chanticleer lacrosse program will move to the ASUN Conference this season (since the Sun Belt Conference does not sponsor women's lacrosse) and will host last year's conference champion and NCAA tournament participant Old Dominion as well as conference foes Howard, Delaware State, Jacksonville and Stetson. Also headlining the CCU home slate will be a contest versus NCAA participant Louisville (March 15).

"We are very excited to kick this season off with a bang," Selvage said. "We have added incredibly competitive teams to prepare us for ASUN competition. We are fortunate to host nine home games and plan to hit the ground running from the very first game."

The Chanticleers will play Cincinnati in their season and home opener on Feb. 24.

After making a west coast swing to take on UC Davis (March 6) and Fresno State (March 8), CCU will host three straight matches, including Vanderbilt (March 12), Louisville and George Mason (March 18).

The Chants close out non-conference play on March 24 against Elon.

Coastal will begin ASUN play on March 26 with a road contest at Furman, followed by league matches at Central Michigan (March 31) and Detroit (April 2).

CCU will wrap up the home portion of the schedule with five straight matches versus Old Dominion (April 9), Howard (April 13), Delaware State (April 15), defending ASUN regular-season champion Jacksonville (April 21) and Stetson (April 23).

The Chanticleers will close out the regular season, as well as conference play, on the road with matches against Kennesaw State (April 28) and Mercer (April 30).
