NEW ORLEANS, La. - Leah Hardeman of the Coastal Carolina volleyball team was voted the Sun Belt Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season as the conference released its weekly awards on Monday.
Hardeman's 4.33 kills per set and .392 hitting percentage last week led Coastal to a pair of straight-sets wins at South Alabama and Troy to extend the Chants' season-long winning streak to nine matches.
The junior outside hitter put down 12 kills and hit .348 against the Jaguars before landing 14 shots at a .429 pace against the Trojans. She also added a pair of service aces in Friday's match at South Alabama, registered four blocks at Troy on Saturday and provided six digs in each match.
Hardeman and the Chants will look to move their winning streak into double figures this week with a trio of upcoming matches.
A postponed match on Oct. 8 during Hurricane Matthew sets up a home-and-home pairing against Georgia Southern, with the Eagles hosting at Hanner Fieldhouse on Wednesday before coming to the HTC Center for a 6:30 p.m. match on Friday.
The Chants then host Georgia State for a 1 p.m. match at the HTC Center on Sunday. Coastal won its first meeting against the Panthers on Oct. 7 in straight sets.
