CONWAY - The final two preseason baseball rankings for the 2016 season have been released and Coastal Carolina is 23rd in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll, while the Chanticleers were the first team among those receiving votes in the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches top 25 poll.

Joining #23 Coastal Carolina in the NCBWA preseason poll are 2016 opponents Virginia (#8), North Carolina State (#20), North Carolina (#21), South Carolina (#24), Mississippi (#33) and College of Charleston (#34). CCU opponents that received votes in the NCBWA poll include Duke, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Radford, UNC Wilmington, Wake Forest and Winthrop.

The USA TODAY coaches poll included Virginia (#7), NC State (#19), North Carolina (#20) and South Carolina (#23). Missouri State rounds out the top 25 with 88 points with Coastal Carolina next on the votes list with 77 points. Others of note to receive votes by the coaches include Georgia Tech (23 points), Ole Miss (10 points), College of Charleston (10 points), UNC Wilmington (6 points) and Winthrop (2 points).
