Coastal Carolina's Alex Ross Has Agreed with Atlanta Falcons

ATLANTA - Alex Ross, the most productive player in both Coastal Carolina and Big South Conference history, has latched on with the Atlanta Falcons and will be participating in the team's minicamp.

Ross, who graduated cum laude from Coastal Carolina in 2014 with a degree in management, was one of 25 players named to the 2015 American Football Coaches Association All-American team, was named 2015 second team NCAA Division I Academic All-America and was a two-time finalist for the national offensive player of the year honors.

He finished his career 20th in NCAA FCS history with 151.85 pass efficiency rating and finished 24th in NCAA FCS history with 11.482 yards of total offense.

Ross is the Big South all-time leader in total offense, touchdown responsibility (91), most rushing yards by a quarterback (19). He is additionally the first player in Big South history to be a three-time, first team All-Big South selection at quarterback, the first player in Big South history to be both a Player of the Year (Offensive in 2014) and Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2015) and the first player in Big South history to throw for at least 3,000 yards three times.

He also owns nearly every CCU single season and career record for passing and total offense. For his career, he completed 760-of-1174 passes (.647) for 9,918 yards and 72 touchdowns. He additionally had 391 rushing for 1,564 yards -- eighth on the CCU all-time list -- with 19 rushing TDs -- fifth in CCU history.
