Coastal Carolina Baseball Tryout Information

The Coastal Carolina University baseball team will be holding it's annual walk on tryouts on Monday, August 29, 2016 for current and full time Coastal Carolina University students. If you are interested in trying out for the team, you MUST attend the mandatory meeting at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 22nd. The meeting will be held at Springs Brooks Stadium (Baseball Stadium) in the open air suite on the 1st base side.
The meeting covers all aspects of the tryout and the pre-participation check list that you must have 100% completed in order to attend and participate in the tryout. There are 3 main things you MUST have completed in order to be cleared for the tryout. It is highly recommended that you begin the pre-participation check list now to be certain all needed materials are turned in on time. You can go to www.goccusports.com/tryout for links to all the items needed.
Item #1: Receipt of an initial-eligibility certification decision, both academic and amateurism, from the NCAA Eligibility Center. Go to www.eligibilitycenter.org to complete. **There is a fee for eligibility center.
Item #2: Completion of the CCU Athletic Training medical information packet, which must be accompanied by a physical examination and proof of insurance. Physical examination must be completed within six months of tryout date. **You are responsible to get this completed on your own and there can be a fee for your physical examination.
Item #3: Completion of the CCU required Sickle-Cell Trait testing. **You are responsible to get this completed on your own and there is a fee for the test.
