Aug. 9, 2016 CONWAY - With the conclusion of the summer term this past Friday, six Coastal Carolina football players ââ'¬" including five current Chanticleers ââ'¬" received their respective degrees.
Those to complete their degrees this past week include 2015 senior Daniel Anousheh (interdisciplinary studies) as well as 2016 seniors Samson Baldwin (exercise science; will seek second degree in art), Ed Brown (psychology; will seek second degree in communication), Sam Ekwonike (public health; will seek second degree in biology), Chase Tidwell (communication; will seek second degree in sociology) and William Walker (recreation and sport management; will seek second degree in communication).
Of the 22 football seniors for this fall, 11 have earned their degrees with an additional five set to graduate this coming December and the remaining six are on schedule to graduate in spring 2017.
Others seniors for this fall that had previously graduated include Devin Brown (interdisciplinary studies; pursuing second degree in communication), De'Angelo Henderson (recreation and sport management; pursuing second degree in communication), Clark Krimmer (recreation and sport management; pursuing second degree in communication), Voghens Larrieux (business management; pursuing M.B.A.), Bruce Mapp (communication; pursuing M.B.A) and Riche Sampson (economics; pursuing second degree in marketing).
Including this year's senior class of 22 student-athletes, there will have been a total of 101 seniors over the five years in the Joe Moglia era. Currently, 82 have received degrees with that number set to expand to 93 by next spring. Eventually, two additional players ââ'¬" NFL veterans Matt Hazel and Denzel Rice ââ'¬" could be added to the list of graduates as both left CCU in good academic standing.
