Men's Soccer Comeback Falls Short at Georgia State

ATLANTA – Coastal Carolina had a strong run in the second half, be fell short in their comeback bid in a 4-3 Sun Belt Conference loss at Georgia State.
 
The home-standing Panthers scored four goals in the first half to lead 4-0 at halftime. In the second half, it was all Teal, but the Chants could not get the tying goal.
 
Yazeed Matthews kept his goal streak going scoring two goals in the second half, his 10th and 11th goals of the season and DZ Harmon added a score to make the final 4-3.
 
Matthews scored his first goal in the 55th minute on an assist from Tsiki Ntsabeleng while Harmon added a second goal in the 66th minute.
 
Matthews was able to steal a pass inside the box and finish the steal with his second goal of the match in the 75th minute, and while the Chants continued to pepper the Panther goal, they could not find the fourth score.
 
Looking at the stats the Chants outshot Georgia State 21-10 and that includes 9-5 in shots on goal. CCU also had seven corner kicks compared to zero for the hosts.
