Chant Signee Records Top-Five Finish at AJGA Invitational Event

Coastal Carolina 2019 signee Gavin Noble finished in a tie for fourth at the Rolex Tournament of Champions this week
West Palm Beach, Fla. – Coastal Carolina men's golf November signee Gavin Noble of Ringgold, Ga. posted a top-five individual finish at the 41st Rolex Tournament of Champions, a prestigious annual event hosted by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), this week in Florida.
Played at the PGA National Resort & Spa Champion and Fazio Golf Courses from in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. from Nov. 17-22, Noble carded a 72-hole score of 282, 4-under par, over the tournament to finish tied for fourth-place overall.
Noble opened the tournament with a first round 73 on the Fazio Course, then bounced back to shoot a second round 70 at the Champion Course the following day to move up the individual leaderboard.
The Chant signee then shot a round of 67 on day three of play on the Fazio Course to put himself in contention for the tournament title going into the final round of play. On Thanksgiving Day, Noble posted a round of 72 on the Champion Course to finish the four-day event with his 72-hole score of 282 and a top-five individual finish.
The 41st edition of the Rolex Tournament of Champions features 144 of the best junior golfers in the world from 26 states and 16 countries. The tournament assembles recently-crowned Rolex Junior All-Americans, Transamerica Scholars, and 2018 champions to create The Greatest Week in Junior Golf. Eighty-three players have won an AJGA tournament and have committed to play college golf.
Past winners of the event include Phil Mickelson, David Duval, Charles Howell III, David Gossett, Webb Simpson, Sam Burns, Heather Farr, Kellee Booth, Inbee Park, Morgan Pressel, and Alison Lee.
