CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team announced its 2019 schedule on Tuesday. The Chants are slated to play a total of 24 matches this spring, including 15 home matches at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Coastal opens the 2019 campaign at home on Jan. 26 against Campbell. After a quick trip to UNC Greensboro on Feb. 2, the Chants return to the Stevens Tennis Complex for a doubleheader against Furman and SC State on Feb. 8, followed by a home match versus Charlotte on Feb. 16.
Coastal then plays five of its next six matches on the road, traveling to Wofford (Feb. 17), East Carolina (Feb. 22) and South Carolina (Feb. 23), and playing a doubleheader at College of Charleston against the host Cougars and North Carolina A&T (March 9). A home match against Ashland on March 6 breaks up the long road stretch.
Following a home match versus Lehigh on March 11, the Chants dip into Sun Belt Conference play for the first time in 2019. Coastal kicks off its conference slate by hosting Appalachian State on March 13, then travels to Arkansas State for a match on March 16.
Coastal finishes its nonconference schedule at home from March 19-20 hosting Fairfield and West Virginia State, respectively.
The remaining eight matches in the regular season are all against Sun Belt opponents.
The Chants begin that stretch at home hosting Troy (March 22) and South Alabama (March 24), before traveling to ULM (March 30) and Louisiana (March 31).
Coastal concludes the regular season with a four-match home stretch against Georgia State (April 5), Georgia Southern (April 7), Texas State (April 12) and UTA (April 14).
The 2019 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Championship, set for April 18-20, will once again be held in Peachtree City, Ga., at the Peachtree Tennis Center.
