CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team defeated College of Charleston 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Coastal improves to 8-5 this season with the win, while College of Charleston falls to 9-6.
The Chants opened the match taking the doubles point on courts one and three.
Sara Bondar and Somer Dalla-Bona started things off with a 6-1 victory at No. 1, and Iryna Vardanian and Natalie Wall finished the point with a 6-3 win at No. 3.
Dalla-Bona put the Chants ahead 2-0 after winning the first singles point in straight sets on the second court.
College of Charleston quickly evened the match when it won the fifth and sixth singles points.
Rylie Cox shifted the lead back to Coastal with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4, and Vardanian clinched the match with a 6-2, 7-6 victory at No. 1.
Coastal is back on the road for its next two matches, beginning with a 2 p.m. contest at USC Upstate on Friday.
