CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team suffered a 4-1 loss to Troy at the Stevens Tennis Complex on Friday in its 2018 Sun Belt Conference debut.

Coastal falls to 6-7, 0-1 with the loss, while Troy moves to 9-8, 1-0.

Troy captured the doubles point on courts one and three, and finished the match by winning three of six singles points. The singles matches on courts one and four went unfinished once the match was decided.

The Trojans' first and third doubles pairings each won by 6-3 margins. The second doubles match, featuring Coastal's Luiz Faria and Gonzalez Achondo, went unfinished with the scored tied at 5-5.

Achondo was the lone Chant to win during singles, taking a straight-sets victory over Andy Lau on the third court.

Mustapha Belcora won in three sets for Troy at No. 6, while Pelayo Antuna and Jiaqi Duan won in three sets on the second and fifth courts, respectively.

Coastal conference schedule resumes on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match versus Georgia Southern at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
