Coastal 6 - Elon 14 
CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team fell to Elon 14-6, Sunday afternoon in Brooks Stadium. With the loss, the Chants fall to 1-6 on the season while the Phoenix improved to 1-7.
Elon opened the match with six goals before Sarah McEvoy (led the team with four shots) put the CCU on the scoreboard with 20:16 remaining in the first half with Sophie Crowther getting the assist.
Coastal would trade goals with Elon to close out their scoring in the first half, Sophie Crowther (2 points, 1 goal and 1 assist) would fill the back of the net on a free position with 12:56 on the clock and Julia Imbo would make it 8-to-3 with 5:40 remaining until halftime with an unassisted goal. The Phoenix would close out the first half scoring with 3:38 for the nine to three halftime lead.
Elon would open the second half getting three straight goals to push the lead 12-to-3 before Bailey O'Brien would score her first career goal to cut the lead to eight, on the Lyla Robinson assist.
The Phoenix pushed the lead to 14-4 for a continuous running clock at 5:41. Haley Alexander scored her lone goal (15th on the season) with 2:08 left to play. Megan Busch filled the back of the net with 54 seconds remaining on the clock for the final margin of 14-6 Elon.
Despite giving up 14 goals, Harley Barrett made 16 saves in between the pipes for the Chants setting the record for most saves in a game.
