Vardanian Repeats at Sun Belt Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Iryna Vardanian of the Coastal Carolina women's tennis team was named the Sun Belt Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Wednesday. It is the third weekly honor for a Chanticleer women's tennis player this season.
Vardanian went unbeaten in both singles and doubles last week as she led Coastal to trio of victories over College of Charleston, USC Upstate and Charlotte.
The junior from Kiev, Ukraine did not drop a set in singles play as she won her first two matches at No. 1 before closing out the week at No. 2. In doubles, Vardanian partnered with Natalie Wall to win a pair of No. 3 matches, and a No. 2 match.
Vardanian has been the hottest Chant as Coastal has won four of its last five matches. She has yet to lose in both singles and doubles in the month of March, and has improved her season records to 8-6 and 9-5, respectively.
Vardanian and the Chants will look to extend their winning streak this weekend when they host several Sun Belt teams at the Stevens Tennis Complex. The full schedule for this weekend's slate is as follows:
Saturday
10 am: Georgia Southern vs. Coastal
10 am: South Alabama vs. Troy
2 pm: App State vs. Georgia State
Sunday
9 am: Georgia Southern vs. South Alabama
9 am: Georgia State vs. Troy
1 pm: App State vs. Coastal
