Coastal Falls to ULM in Sun Belt Quarterfinals

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - The third-seeded Coastal Carolina women's tennis team was upended by No. 6 ULM , 4-2, Friday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Championship.
Coastal ends its 2018 season 16-7 overall, while ULM advances to Saturday's semifinal against Georgia State.
The Chanticleers struck first in the match by taking the doubles points, but ULM countered with four singles victories to Coastal's one.
Coastal's second and third doubles of Iryna Vardanian and Natalie Wall, and Rylie Cox and Jessie Mount, respectively, each tallied 6-3 victories to earn the Chants a 1-0 lead.
Coastal's Sara Bondar provided the only other point of the match for the three seed, winning the fourth court 6-2, 6-1.
ULM's Karolina Smith and Madlina Grigoriu took the second and sixth courts in straight sets, while Stefana Andrei and Karolina Silwanowicz grabbed points in three sets on the first and third courts, respectively, to close out the Warhawk victory.
