Bill Carson Invitational Day 1

GREENVILLE, N.C. - At the Raleigh Relays on Friday, women's Coastal Carolina Chanticleers track and field squad has 16 points and fourth overall after the throwing events. For the men, they have totaled 10 points and fifth overall.

Coastal picked up ten points in the women's javelin as Chloe White picked up a fourth-place finish with a throw of 41.64 meters. Teammate Marissa Cain finished two spots behind her in sixth place with a toss of 36.69 meters. Lauren Labarski picked up the win with a throw at 49 meters, but since Larbarski wasn't affiliated with a team, Riley Scwietz of Troy finished second at 42.56 meters had picked up second place points.

Samantha Layko picked up another six points for the women's team as she finished in third place in the women's hammer throw with 52.28 meters. East Carolina's Mahoghany Baker took home the first place finish as she tossed 55.32 meters.

On the men's side Nicholas Seabright picked up a seventh place finish in the men's javelin as threw 51.83 meters and gained the men's team with two points.

The Chants earned eight points in the men's hammer throw. Kieran Moore earned the highest Chanticleer performance as came in fourth place and five points when he threw 51.12 meters. Two spots behind in sixth place was Zach Bolton earned three points with a toss of 49.03.

On day two of the Bill Carson Invitational, the track events will be featured.
