Chants Fall To Tarheels in Four Sets

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers women's volleyball team returned to court for the first time in 2018 as they dropped an exhibition match in four sets (22-25, 22-25, 28-26, 10-25) to the North Carolina Tarheels at home in the HTC Center on Thursday night.
Sophomore outside hitter Ani Bozdeva led the Chants and the match with 16 kills as she hit .342.
A pair of Coastal setters recorded double-digit assist matches as senior Sara Boothe had 17 and Ann-Katrine Hakansson had 13.
Three Tarheel hitters connected for double-digit put aways as Destiny Cox led the way with 15 while Skylar Wine and Ava Bell each had 14.
UNC setter Hunter Atherton led the match with 36 sets on the evening.
Coastal opens the regular season at the University Georgia on Friday, August 24 when they visit the Georgia Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
