Kennesaw, Ga. – Baylee Price and
Sunny Sigurvinsdottir lead the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team over the Little Rock Trojans 2-1 on the campus of Kennesaw State due to Hurricane Florence hitting Conway, S.C.
The win moved the Chants record to 2-4-1 overall and 1-0-0 in Sun Belt action while the Trojans fall to 5-3-1 and 0-1-0 in the conference.
The Trojans took an early 1-0 lead by getting on the board first when Liesa Seifert found the back of the net via a penalty kick after a Chanticleer foul in the box with 11:04 on the clock.
Coastal Carolina opened the second half recording the first three shot attempts but was unable to get on the board. Sigurvinsdottir leveled the score at 1-1 when she beat the Trojans goalie on a penalty kick in the 71st minute. Price scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute to give the Chants the conference win.
Coastal outshot Little Rock 13-11 with a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal.
The next scheduled match against Arkansas State, Sunday, Sept. 16 has been postponed because of the aforementioned hurricane with a yet to be determined date and time. The Chanticleers will travel to Mobile, Ala. to take on defending Sun Belt champs South Alabama, Friday (Sept. 21).
