CONWAY – On Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m., the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will host matches against Georgia State and South Alabama, respectively.
Coastal has an overall record of 4-6-2 on the season and is 2-2-1 in Sun Belt action with conference wins over Troy and Appalachian State.
The Chanticleers will be honoring the six seniors on this years' team before the opening kickoff to the match on Friday, Oct. 11.

Hannah Miller leads the offensive attack with nine points on four goals and one assist with midfielder
Sunny Sigurvinsdottir right behind her with four goals for eight points. Newcomer
Megan Brouse ranks third with two goals and two assists while
Mackenzie Gibbs has tallied five points on one goal and three assists.
The Chanticleers defensive backline is held down by
Mackenzie Cherry,
Callie Hawkins, and
Kylie Bostick, along with goalkeepers
Rylee Atteberry and
Ky Hudson, each seeing action between the pipes.
In its last contest, Coastal fell 3-1 on the road at Louisiana. The Ragin' Cajuns took an early 2-0 lead in the opening stanza before making it 3-0 early in the second period. The Chanticleers put a tally on the scoreboard in the 61st minute when
Santana Pressley and Cherry found a streaking Miller who beat the defense to pull CCU to within two at 3-1. The final four minutes were called due to lightning being in the area and travel concerns for the Chanticleers to return home.
GEORGIA STATE vs. COASTAL
The Panthers enter the weekend with a record of 4-6-2 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play. Jimena Cabrero leads the offensive attack for Georgia State with three goals for six points while a trio of Panthers have tallied four points each in Jocelyn Jones (two goals), Liz Fogarty (two goals), and Jolie Ryff (one goal and two assists). Defensively, Kendra Clarke has played in nine games with 31 saves and three shutouts in goal for GSU.
Last time out, the Panthers ended in a 0-0 double-overtime draw with Arkansas State. The Trojans outshot Georgia State 9-8 for the match, with neither team unable to break open the scoring.
GEORGIA STATE vs. COASTAL ALL-TIME SERIES
The Panthers hold a 1-3 all-time record over the Chants. Georgia State picked up a 3-2 overtime win against Coastal last season in the conference tournament held in Foley, Ala. GSU took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute before CCU evened it up in the eighth. The Chanticleers took a one-goal advantage in the 61st minute with the Panthers tying the match at 2-2 in the 82nd minute. In the fourth minute of overtime, Georgia State found the game-winner to advance in the Sun Belt Championship Tournament.
SOUTH ALABAMA vs. COASTAL
South Alabama enters the weekend sitting tied atop of the Sun Belt standings with Troy with a 4-1-1 conference record and a 9-3-2 overall record. Briana Morris paces the Jaguars offense with nine goals and one assist for 19 points along with Cloe McGlade with 12 points on four goals and four assists. On the defensive end, Justice Stanford has allowed just nine goals in 13 matches and making 39 saves.
South Alabama needed almost all of the 110 minutes in a 1-0 double-overtime victory against the Red Wolves of Arkansas State in its last outing. Moa Ohman notched the game-winner with 33 seconds remaining to give the Jaguars their fourth conference win.
SOUTH ALABAMA vs. COASTAL ALL-TIME SERIES
USA enters Sunday's matchup with a 4-1 advantage in the series against Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers earned their first win over the Jags, a 1-0 overtime thriller, in Mobile, Ala. in the 2018 regular-season matchup. Sigurvinsdottir scored the game-winning goal on a rebound from a long free-kick by former Chant
Lauren Dabner. Dabner's shot bounced off the post, and before the South Alabama defense could clear it, Sigurvinsdottir found the back of the net.
