
Chanticleer Track and Field Announces Schedule

CONWAY – On Wednesday afternoon, Coastal Carolina University Director of Track and Field, Sandy Fowler announced the 2019-20 season schedule.
The Chanticleers are set to begin the indoor track and field season at the University of South Carolina on Jan.17Â part of the Gamecock Inaugural.
CCU will visit the Liberty Indoor Track and Field Complex for the Darius Dixon Memorial Open in Lynchburg, Va. on Jan. 24 and then return to the USC campus on Jan. 31 at the Carolina Challenge.
On Valentine's Day, the Chants close out the indoor regular season with the VMI Indoor Classic in Lexington, Va.
Postseason competition begins on Feb. 24 with the 2020 Indoor Track and Field Sun Belt Championships in Birmingham, Ala. at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The 2020 NCAA Indoor Championships will take place on Mar. 13 on the campus of the University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
The outdoor track and field schedule is set to start on Mar. 13. For the third consecutive year, the Chanticleers will open the season hosting the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Myrtle Beach at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Seven days later on Mar. 20, CCU will return to Doug Shaw for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Mar. 19.
The Chants will split up on Mar. 27 as they travel to Raleigh, N.C for the Raleigh Relays while the other portion of the squad will go cross-state to Rock Hill, S.C. for the Adidas/ Winthrop Invitational.
After competing at East Carolina University's Bill Carson Invitational on April 3, the Chants will spend the following two weekends at the Cregger Track in Columbia, S.C. for the Gamecock Invitational (April 11) and the Tom Jones Invitational (April 17). Â
The Chanticleer team will have one last regular-season date to qualify for NCAA post-season competition as they return to Rock Hill on April 29 for the Winthrop Twilight.Â
Postseason action will begin on May 8 at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Complex on the campus Louisiana University part of the 2020 Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
On May 28, NCAA regional action will begin after a two-week hiatus on the campus of the University of Kentucky at the UK Track & Field Facility at the NCAA East Prelims. Athletes that qualify will head to the University of Texas at Austin at Myers Stadium on June 10 for the 2020 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
