Monroe, La. – Coastal Carolina's
Hannah Miller filled the back of the net in the 76th minute in the second half to give CCU a 1-0 victory over the ULM Warhawks on Sunday afternoon in Monroe, La. With the win, the Chants improved to 7-8-2 on the season and 5-4-1 in Sun Belt action while the Warhawks fall to 3-13-2 overall and were winless at 0-10 in conference play.
Both teams traded possessions with neither side able to break open the scoring early in the match. The Chanticleer offense led by Miller and
Loranna Austin each with two attempts outshot ULM 11-6 in the opening stanza.
The second period began with the Warhawks attempting a couple of quick shots closing the gap in shot attempts by each team before Coastal Carolina's ball control play took over in the second half where the Chants would outshoot ULM 13-3.
Miller would score the lone goal of the game in the 76
th minute from just outside the box by beating the Warhawks goalkeeper for the game-winning tally off an assist from
Megan Brouse.
Offensively, the Chants were led by Miller with six shots and the lone goal of the match, while the trio of Austin,
Mackenzie Gibbs, and
Ariana Monroe recorded three shot attempts each with seven others getting at least one shot attempt off in the conference road win.

Ky Hudson tallied four saves on the day to preserve the victory for her third shutout of the season.
Coastal will now wait until after the Arkansas State and Little Rock match on Tuesday, Oct. 29, to find out exactly where they will be seeded in the upcoming Sun Belt Championship to be held in Foley, Ala. on Nov. 6-10.
