Chanticleers Win Inaugural United Soccer Coaches Proudest Program Award

Coastal Carolina women’s soccer supports the Play with Pride program annually
CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team has been awarded the inaugural United Soccer Coaches Play with Pride "Proudest Program" award, it was announced today.
The #PlayWithPride Week, sponsored by the United Soccer Coaches LGBT & Allies Advocacy Group, is an annual event where teams across the country can show their support for athletes and coaches of all sexual orientations and gender identities by wearing rainbow shoelaces. New for 2019, the LGBT & Allies Coaches Advocacy Group began hosting the Proudest Program Contest.
"We are extremely proud to be recognized by the United Soccer Coaches as the first-ever Proudest Program," stated head coach Paul Hogan. "We have fully embraced the #PlayWithPride Week since its inception a few years ago. Our players and staff truly believe in being an inclusive program. I could not be more proud of our coaches and program."
"The CCU team has supported the Play with Pride initiative since the beginning, and we are grateful for the support they have given the LGBTQ members of the soccer community," said Advocacy Relations Manager for the United Soccer Coaches Association Lee Jarrell.
