CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will host their final non-conference matchup of the 2019-20 season as in-state foe South Carolina State visits the HTC Center on Sunday, Dec. 29, in Conway, S.C. The contest is scheduled for a 2 p.m. ET tip-off.
The two teams have met 20 times on the hardwood with the Bulldogs holding an 11-9 advantage in the series. However, the Chanticleers picked up a 57-44 win in the last meeting between the two teams back on Nov. 13, 2018.
ABOUT COASTAL
The Chants are off to the best start in the program's history with a 9-1 overall record. The lone loss came to Richmond in the Coastal Carolina Thanksgiving Classic.
CCU is averaging 78.0 points per contest while allowing just 56.1 points per game. On the season, Coastal is shooting 35.5 percent from three-point land while hitting field goals at a 45 percent rate.

COASTAL LAST TIME OUT
Coastal Carolina used a 19-0 run to open the third quarter to take control for an easy 76-65 win over Elon in the Carolinas Challenge held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Thursday, Dec. 19.
Williams had a game-high 27 points to lead the Chants over the Phoenix. The Moreno Valley, Calif. native, reached the 20-point plateau for the 19th time in her career and was aided in scoring by Hamilton and Blount with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
SCOUTING SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
The Bulldogs are 1-11 on the season and enters Sunday's game on a 10 game losing skid.
South Carolina State has two players averaging in double figures; Taylor Brown leads the Bulldogs attack with 17.0 points per contest while Heniaya Moten is adding 11.9 points per game.
On the year, the Bulldogs are allowing 75.6 per game while averaging 52.9 points per contest.
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE LAST TIME OUT
The Bulldogs fell 99-46 to North Alabama in their second game in the GSU Classic in Atlanta, Ga., on Sunday, Dec. 22 as all five starters for UNA reached double figures in the contest.
The Lions recorded 40 points off of South Carolina State turnovers while shooting 56.7 percent from the field for the game.
Jacquece Alston paced the SCSU offense with 17 points while De'Mean Bond added eight points in the loss.
