GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss Friday afternoon at East Carolina's ECU Indoor Tennis Center.
 
The Chants fall to 1-3 with the loss while ECU improves to 5-2.
 
ECU began its sweep in doubles with identical 6-2 wins on the first and second courts. Lisa Hofbauer and Alisa Diercksen defeated Jennifer Brown and Jessie Mount at No. 1, while Celia Ruiz and Minette Van Vreden bested Somer Dalla-Bona and Viktorija Demcenkova at No. 2.
 
Ruiz claimed the first singles point for ECU, defeating Dalla-Bona at No. 2, 6-2, 6-2. Hofbauer followed with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Demcenkova at No. 1. The match ended with Diercksen winning 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 against Brown.
 
The Chanticleers return to action on Saturday when they travel to #6 South Carolina for a 2 p.m. match.
